Think, do and thrive through counseling, personal training and group. Create balance in your life and total body wellness.

About

Trained in Psychodynamic and Family Systems Theories, I work with patients to better understand how their past and current relationships impact their motivation, decision-making and self-image. Drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy we will work to change defeating beliefs, create healthy interpersonal skills and move you towards a life of value. Whether individually or with loved ones we will challenge patterns and create healthy change.

As an undergraduate student, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of North Florida. I completed a Master of Science from the Department of Counseling at San Francisco State University, specializing in marriage and family therapy with an emphasis in rehabilitation.

With 10 years of direct service experience, I've been fortunate to work with adults, adolescents, and children. I've provided treatment to individuals, couples and groups. Predominantly featured throughout my experiences has been an emphasis on the value of multicultural competency and a deep exploration of the relationship between identity and health. I aim to support my patients in bettering their lives and reaching their individual goals through a holistic approach targeting mind-body health. I am certified as a Personal Trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and am licensed as a Professional Counselor with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.

I believe that healthy living is rooted in authenticity. In navigating issues related to culture, race, sexuality, gender or interpersonal dynamics, I strive to create a non-judgmental space where all topics can be explored freely. I also believe that your mind and your body are inseparably linked and that positive changes in one undoubtebly impacts the other. Whether targeting physical change or emotional growth together we can create healthy balance in your life.

In earning my Doctor of Behavioral Health degree from Arizona State University I've received advanced training in collaborative care and population-based health management. My primary focus includes the relationship between health, nutrition, physical activity and depression. I work closely with medical practitioners to provide behavioral health services tailored to the unique needs of patients living with chronic illness.
